Business Problem:
Client has 4 databases comprising 20+ trial balances that were manually consolidated each month for financial reporting. With new finance leadership, the company wanted immediate process improvement and data governance over this month-end close financial reporting task, in addition to a more efficient way to evaluate global budgets and forecasts.
Consulting Services Provided:
Working with the CFO, Corporate Controller, and outside consultants, Links Advisory:
- Evaluated the selected software platform for accomplishing business goals
- Defined the account ID as a combination of legacy GL account + legacy Business Unit ID
- Imported historical trial balances for previous five years and tied out to audit reports
- Trained new team members on obtaining, formatting, and importing
- Identified hierarchy of business units and business segments to enable efficient decision making with historical groupings of data that was previously available in prior reporting package
